Reviews decide bookings: 75% of patients will not book below 4.0 stars, 66% weigh your replies, and 68% will leave a review if asked. The flow: an automatic request the evening after the visit, a drafted reply within 48 hours, and a human who reads negatives first (rater8, 2026).

National dental spending reached $189 billion in 2024, up 4% on 2023. Med-spas are a $17 billion-plus industry growing by more than $1 billion a year; the sector has more than 10,000 locations, 80% of them single-location. The typical operator in every segment treats patients all day and runs the business in the gaps (American Dental Association Health Policy Institute, 2026, American Med Spa Association, 2026, Baird, 2025).

What your peers are actually doing

The top uses are summaries of research (39%), discharge instructions and progress notes (30%), billing codes (28%), chart summaries (28%) and draft replies to patient-portal messages (19%) (American Medical Association, 2026).

A British Veterinary Association survey found 21% of vets use AI daily, mostly for radiography reporting (44%) and lab diagnostics (27%), with only 11% using it for client communication; 83% worry about results interpreted without context (Vet Times, 2025).

Where the payback actually is

We ranked ten use cases by what they do to revenue or hours against what they cost to set up. Three sit clearly in the upper-left corner — high impact, low effort — and they are where a business of this size should start.

  1. Ambient scribe / clinical notes
  2. Missed-call & web-lead follow-up
  3. Reminders, waitlist, no-show recovery

The automation wish-list, in order, is scheduling and confirmations (49%), insurance verification (46%), intake (42%) and billing reminders (41%). Those four are the front-office half of Chapter 4 (Weave, 2026).

The part nobody wants to read

Delaware's 2026 law says an AI cannot hold a nursing or physician license. Patients agree: only 14% trust AI medical information "a lot or completely," against 66% for a licensed provider. The five jobs above make the licensed person faster; they do not stand in for her (Holland & Knight, 2026, Tebra, 2026).

One rule covers most of the risk: a person checks every fact about a price, a promise or a law before it reaches a customer. The chapter on rules goes through the ones that apply to this industry specifically — in the United States and in Chile, where Ley 21.719 takes full effect on 1 December 2026.
